Backend Maintenance and Website Overhaul

YardSnipe’s live vehicle catalogue update system is currently undergoing maintenance and improvements. While this work is being completed, vehicle inventory may temporarily be unavailable or unable to load.

The live catalogue is one of the largest and most important systems behind YardSnipe. It is responsible for collecting, processing, and publishing inventory from connected salvage yards so users can search for vehicles across many different locations from one place. I am currently repairing and improving that backend process so it can continue to grow reliably as YardSnipe expands.

During this maintenance period, some vehicle searches may not work as expected and live inventory may not be available until the update system is fully restored. I am working to get everything back online as soon as possible while also making sure the underlying system is stronger and more dependable going forward.

I also want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported YardSnipe, used the site, shared it, followed the project, or simply checked in to see what we are building. The amount of interest and support YardSnipe has received this early has been incredible to see.

YardSnipe is currently being built and maintained by one person. Outside of working on the site, I also work a full-time job and have a family to take care of. I put as much time as I can into improving YardSnipe, fixing issues, expanding inventory coverage, and building new tools, but sometimes major backend work takes a little longer than I would like.

One of the next major milestones is completing the Google AdSense setup. Once advertising revenue is established, the goal is for YardSnipe to become self-sustaining. That revenue can help cover hosting, infrastructure, data processing, development costs, and the other expenses required to keep a growing platform running.

More importantly, becoming self-sustaining will allow more resources to go directly back into YardSnipe. That means more yard coverage, better search tools, stronger vehicle and part data, improved performance, and more new features that I am excited to bring to the community.

This maintenance is temporary, and the work happening behind the scenes is part of preparing YardSnipe for much larger growth. Thank you for your patience, your support, and for being part of the project this early.

The live catalogue will be back as soon as the backend repair and overhaul are complete.
