Vehicle Watchlists Are Live: Smarter Alerts, 237,000+ Vehicles, and What’s Next
YardSnipe has taken another major step forward. Vehicle watchlists are now live inside My Garage, distance-based alerts are working, the live catalogue has grown to 237,476 vehicles, and development is already underway on a new events and promotions pipeline for salvage yards.
Vehicle Watchlists Are Here
Users can now save vehicles inside My Garage and place those vehicles on a personal watchlist.
Once a vehicle is being watched, YardSnipe automatically checks newly arriving junkyard inventory for matching year, make, and model. Instead of repeatedly searching yard after yard for the same donor vehicle, users can let YardSnipe keep watching new inventory as it arrives.
My Garage and Watchlists Require a YardSnipe Account
To access My Garage, create vehicle watchlists, and receive watchlist notifications, users will need to create a YardSnipe account and be signed in.
These features are tied directly to each user’s saved vehicles, watch settings, selected search radius, and notifications. This allows YardSnipe to keep personalized vehicle searches organized for each account.
Visitors can still search YardSnipe inventory without using these personalized tools, but an account is required to unlock My Garage and watchlist features.
Real Distance-Based Alerts
Watchlists can also be limited by distance. Users can select a search radius around their chosen location, and YardSnipe will only allow an alert when a matching vehicle appears within that distance.
The system uses exact yard coordinates when they are available and ZIP-code location data as a fallback. YardSnipe then calculates the real approximate mileage between the watch location and the salvage yard.
If the location of a yard cannot be determined reliably, YardSnipe will not send a potentially incorrect nearby alert. Users who want to search nationwide can instead select Anywhere, allowing matching arrivals from across the country.
237,476 Live Vehicles and Growing
The latest successful YardSnipe inventory refresh reached 237,476 live vehicle listings.
That refresh contained 4,977 genuinely new vehicle records compared with the previous live inventory snapshot.
The watchlist system is designed around those new arrivals. Existing inventory is not repeatedly treated as new. After a successful inventory refresh, YardSnipe compares newly appearing vehicles against active watchlists and can create a notification when a qualifying match is found.
Built Directly Into the Inventory Pipeline
This is more than another button on the website. The watchlist matcher is connected directly to YardSnipe’s inventory refresh pipeline.
After a successful inventory update is processed and safely published, YardSnipe automatically checks new arrivals against eligible user watchlists. That brings the platform closer to being able to actively hunt for vehicles on behalf of users instead of requiring people to perform the same searches over and over.
Coming Soon: Yard Events and Promotions
We are also currently developing a new events and promotions pipeline designed to collect and organize the specials, sales, and events offered by salvage yards.
The goal is to give YardSnipe users one place to discover things such as discount days, special pricing, holiday sales, admission specials, promotional events, and other yard-specific deals.
Today, that information is often scattered across individual yard websites, social media pages, and other sources. As this system develops, YardSnipe will work toward bringing those promotions together so users can more easily see what is happening, where it is happening, and when.
The long-term goal is simple: YardSnipe should not only help users find the vehicle or part they need, but also help them know the best time to go pull it.
The Data Engine Keeps Growing
Behind the scenes, YardSnipe’s vehicle, yard, and parts-intelligence infrastructure continues expanding as more sources are discovered, verified, and processed.
Every new yard, vehicle, event, promotion, and verified data point makes the platform more useful whether someone is looking for a difficult-to-find donor vehicle, searching for parts for a personal project, or looking for opportunities before somebody else finds them.
Create an account. Build your Garage. Watch your vehicles. Let YardSnipe hunt.
Find Parts. Pull Profit.
More coming soon.
